Think Equal

The Think Equal Programme represents a significant initiative aimed at empowering young children in Belize with crucial social and emotional skills essential for their holistic development. By integrating lessons and activities that cultivate kindness, empathy, and tolerance, the program seeks to instil qualities that have enduring impacts on behaviour throughout adolescence and into adulthood.

By fostering emotionally healthy communities nationwide, Think Equal contributes to the overall well-being and cohesion of Belizean society. The programme’s comprehensive reach extends to all Infant 1 and Infant 2 classrooms across the country, making Belize one of the 26 nations worldwide participating in this endeavour and one of only three countries to have implemented the program nationwide. To support educators in delivering these vital lessons effectively, instructional resources, including a comprehensive teaching guide and carefully selected children’s literature, have been distributed to these classrooms.

These beautifully illustrated books serve as valuable tools for teachers, enabling them to utilise practical examples and relatable stories to impart the programme’s key messages to young learners, thereby nurturing a generation equipped with the skills and values necessary for a harmonious and empathetic society.
