The establishment of the Counselling and Care Unit is to help proactively and reactively address issues related to healthy behavior and mental health of school-aged children in primary schools. The Counselling and Care Unit is committed to creating a safe, healthy and supportive learning community by providing support to all school counsellors in their implementation of data-driven, standards-based, comprehensive school counselling services to address the academic, career, and personal/social development of all students. In addition, the Unit collaborates with stakeholders to remove institutional and environmental barriers, close achievement and opportunity gaps, and ensure access, equity, and success for all students.
Improve the quality of life for students and their families by focusing on developing their psychological and emotional wellbeing; empowering them with skills, knowledge, and attitudes to achieve academic success, advance career development, and citizen readiness.
